Terms of use
Last updated October 19, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Table It (“Table It”, “we”, “us”) about using the Table It app and website (the “service”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them and to our privacy policy and community guidelines. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Table It.
1. Who can use Table It
You must be at least 18, able to agree to these terms, and not barred from using the service. One account per person, under your real first name. Keep access to your phone number or email secure; you’re responsible for what happens on your account.
2. What Table It does, and doesn’t do
Table It helps people plan and join small get-togethers. We are not a restaurant, a venue, an event organizer or a party to the plans people make. In particular:
- Hosts and guests are other users. We don’t run background checks or verify who people are, and we can’t promise that anyone will behave well or show up. Use your judgment, meet in public places when you don’t know people, and see our community guidelines.
- Venues are independent businesses. Most venues on Table It aren’t our partners. Their details come from public sources and may be out of date. A table isn’t reserved until the venue confirms it, whether through Resy, OpenTable, by email or by phone. Walk-in spots don’t take reservations at all. We don’t guarantee a venue will have room, its prices, its food or its service.
- Bookings made on Resy or OpenTable are between you and that service and the venue, under their terms, including any deposits or cancellation fees.
- Emails to venues that we send for you are sent at your request, with your first name and what you wrote. Replies come back to you in the app.
3. Hosting
If you host a table, you agree to:
- Describe it honestly, including the time, place, cost and what to expect.
- Make or confirm any reservation yourself, and cancel early if plans change.
- For events at your home, share the address only through the app with confirmed guests, and follow the law, including on serving alcohol (21+ in the U.S.).
- Not charge guests for anything you didn’t describe, and not use Table It to sell things or run a business without our written OK.
4. Your content
You own what you post (your profile, events, messages and photos). You give Table It a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display and share it as needed to run and improve the service, for as long as it’s on Table It. You confirm you have the right to post it. Don’t post anything that breaks the law or our community guidelines. We may remove content or limit accounts that do.
5. Things you agree not to do
- Harass, threaten, discriminate against or endanger anyone.
- Pretend to be someone else, or create fake or duplicate accounts.
- Spam people or venues, or use Table It for advertising or selling.
- Scrape, copy or resell the service or its data, or use bots to access it, including to book tables.
- Get around blocks, limits or security, or try to break or overload the service.
- Use the service for anything illegal.
6. Reports, suspension and ending your account
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on Table It. You can block anyone, and report people, tables and messages in the app. We review reports within 24 hours and may warn, suspend or remove accounts, or remove content, at our discretion, including without notice when someone’s safety is at risk. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete my account. We may stop offering all or part of the service; we’ll give notice when we reasonably can.
7. Third-party services
Table It uses and links to services we don’t control, such as Google Maps, Resy, OpenTable, Apple and venue websites. Their own terms apply. Venue information and suggestions from Google Maps are provided by Google.
8. Payments
Table It is free to use right now. If we add paid features, such as paying for a seat, we’ll show the price and any additional terms before you pay.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and that the service will be uninterrupted, accurate or error-free. We are not responsible for the conduct of any user or venue, online or in person.
10. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Table It will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the service or from meeting other users or visiting venues. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
11. Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against Table It because of your content, your events or your breaking these terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs, to the extent the law allows.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts in New York County, New York, and you and Table It agree to those courts’ jurisdiction. Before going to court, please email us so we can try to sort it out.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app before they take effect. Using Table It after that means you accept the updated terms.
14. Apple
If you got the app from Apple’s App Store, these terms are between you and Table It, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for the app, its support or any claims about it, and Apple and its subsidiaries can enforce these terms as third-party beneficiaries.
